Although distressed and not feeling the best, she finds comfort in Sugar Bear, who she has had since the NICU. We had been in the ER all day and finally got to the CT scan. It was assumed that she could not follow commands and would move, which resulted in her being strapped down. She and I advocated not to be strapped down, which fell on deaf ears. We were finally diagnosed and began the discharge process. Her question was, "How long is this going to take?" Because I am walking behind her, I can shield her from my energy, as I am extremely mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted. She is still a sassy sixteen-year-old who thinks she knows best. Although she is one person, the items required to keep her safe and able to travel consume the entire back row of the vehicle.
